Job summary

CobbFendley Inc. is seeking an Electronic Distribution Designer for our Houston or Woodlands, TX office. You will translate survey data into plan, profile, cross-section, and utility drawings, contributing to design development and project delivery.

Collaborate with engineers and designers, utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer, and apply company standards and QA/QC processes to deliver accurate designs on time.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes and standards, and established design practices used in planning and development of projects.
• Skills in using industry-standard engineering design software to develop, modify, and coordinate engineering designs, drawings, and deliverables.
• Ability to analyze data, apply design criteria, and use standard software to produce accurate design documentation and support project completion.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering concepts into detailed, constructable designs.
• Support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Senior Designers with assigned design tasks under supervision.
• Develop plan, profile, cross-section, and utility drawings from survey data, record drawings, and design criteria.
• Interpret survey notes, utility records, specifications, and engineering plans to develop base drawings.
• Incorporate redline markups and review comments.
• Perform basic engineering calculations, including elevations, grades, utility dimensions, and material quantities.
• Coordinate with project teams to support design development.
