Job summary

MACOM in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to support its Core Technology team in semiconductor process tech, PDKs, SPICE modeling, and product design.

The role requires 5+ years of IC design experience, Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre proficiency, DRC/LVS knowledge, and Linux scripting; you will collaborate with foundries and designers to drive critical tapeouts and silicon validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in IC design.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso design flow and Spectre simulator.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso PDK installation and maintenance.
  • Cadence SKILL code a plus.
  • Siemens Calibre DRC rule development a plus.
  • Semiconductor device physics for CMOS/BiCMOS processes.
  • SPICE modeling and simulation.
  • Probe level silicon device measurements.
  • Analog circuit design with Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Linux CLI and scripting.
  • MS Excel and VBA macros.

Responsibilities

  • Handle frequent design tapeouts with various foundries.
  • PDK installation, maintenance and enhancements.
  • Day to day support for designer and layout engineer issues.
  • Support semiconductor process technology with designers and interface with foundries.
  • Support SPICE models and simulation.
  • DRC/LVS verification.
  • Assist designers with product debug through data analysis and microprobing.
