Job summary

MACOM is seeking a Facilities Engineering Program Manager to lead infrastructure projects, capital budgets, and cross-functional initiatives. You will coordinate with Operations, EH&S, Finance and external partners to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires 7–10 years in facilities engineering, PE or PMP credentials, and experience with CMMS, BAS, and energy management systems. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years of facilities engineering and/or capital project experience.
  • PE license or equivalent certification.
  • PMP or equivalent formal project management training.
  • Experience with CMMS, BAS, and energy management systems.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or reliability engineering expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of facilities engineering programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage capital construction, renovation, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment installation projects end-to-end.
  • Develop charters, schedules, budgets, risk assessments and resource plans.
  • Establish governance, metrics and reporting; track milestones within scope and budget.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, architects and external service providers.
  • Prepare CAPEX/opex budgets, ROI analyses and funding requests.

The Facilities Engineering Program Manager is responsible for planning, designing, maintaining, and improving facility infrastructure and engineering systems to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operations. This role leads engineering projects, manages capital programs, and provides technical oversight of building systems while applying structured project management principles consistent with PMP standards. The position partners closely with Operations, EH&S, Finance, and external contractors to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.Main Duties and Responsibilities:• Lead the development and execution of facilities engineering programs and strategic initiatives.• Manage capital construction, renovation, infrastructure upgrade, and equipment installation projects from concept through commissioning.• Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource plans.• Establish project governance, performance metrics, and reporting mechanisms.• Track project milestones and ensure timely completion within scope and budget.• Manage contractors, consultants, architects, and external service providers.• Develop annual and multi-year capital plans.• Manage CAPEX and operating budgets.• Prepare project justifications, ROI analyses, and funding requests.• Track expenditures and forecast project spending.• Communicate project status, risks, and resource needs to leadership teams.• Facilitate cross-functional meetings and decision-making processes.• Build strong working relationships across Operations, Manufacturing, R&D, EHS, and Engineering.Key Competencies Required:• Minimum 7–10 years of facilities engineering and/or capital project experience• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities• Skilled in Microsoft Office and database tools (SAP preferred)• PE license or equivalent certification• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal project management training• Experience with CMMS, BAS, and energy management systems• Lean, Six Sigma, or reliability engineering expertisePrevious Relevant Work Experience:• Proven experience in managing large scale construction projects• Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and engineering standards• Prior facilities engineering semiconductor manufacturing experience• Experience managing contractors, consultants, and capital budgetsExperience with dangerous substances; including gases, solids, and liquidsExperience in hazardous waste management and wastewater treatmentMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Facilities, or related discipline)Additional Details:Some domestic travel requiredEEO:MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
