Job summary

BN Associates Inc. is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to support development, testing and certification for aircraft PCB modules. You will apply electrical theory and use test equipment to troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems.

The role involves SPICE modeling, Altium PCB layouts, and updating FPGA/CPLD designs with Verilog or VHDL, while preparing certification reports for authorities and ensuring proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years in electronics engineering.
• Experience with aerospace standards or similar industry standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Assist with the development, design, testing and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft
• Apply electrical engineering theory and the operation of electronic test equipment to test and troubleshoot avionics / electrical modules or systems
• Model and simulate electronic circuits using SPICE software
• Design printed circuit board layouts using Altium design software
• Modify and maintain programmable logic designs in FPGAs and CPLDs
• Prepare engineering certification reports to document system designs that meet the requirements of certification authorities
• Prepare functional test documents to verify proper operation of electronic assemblies

Skills/Experience

• Proficient in analog and digital circuit design
• Software programing experience with C programming language
• Desired knowledge of control systems and embedded processor design
• Design Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Verilog or VHDL
• Familiarity with the application of aerospace standards (DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461) or similar industry standards.
• At least 2 years of experience in Electronics Engineering or related field

Education

• Bachelor's degree with a Major in Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
• Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
