Overview
An established manufacturer in southern New Hampshire is seeking a detail-oriented Electronic Bench Technician to join its lab and service operations team. This role is central to ensuring the performance and reliability of high-precision equipment through hands-on assembly, calibration, and diagnostic work.
What you'll do
- Perform hands-on electro-mechanical assembly, integration, alignment, calibration, and diagnostic troubleshooting on high-precision equipment
- Support lab operations and perform bench repairs
- Manage service inventories and coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments
- Liaise with internal teams and engineering personnel, both locally and overseas, to ensure product performance and reliability
- Work with a wide variety of technical products, understanding their operational and technical aspects
- Read and understand manufacturing and process documentation, including schematics
- Use a variety of hand tools and test/measurement equipment
- Participate in the development and implementation of training courses
- Conduct routine repair, diagnosis, service, support, and upgrades of company products (training provided)
- Help develop standard repair and integration procedures
- Oversee overall inventory management, with support from a part-time administrator, to ensure inventory accuracy
Required qualifications
- Technical degree or equivalent experience (Engineering degree NOT required, but must be able to read schematics and have experience soldering)
- Experience in a technically related manufacturing or service industry
- Strong troubleshooting skills aligned with overall job responsibilities
- Proficient with electronic test equipment, e.g., oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and signal generators
- Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
- Data input and summary computer skills
- Due to company/government interaction, must be a U.S. Citizen with a Passport
- Must work onsite in Salem, NH; no remote work available
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience in defense/aerospace electronics industries a plus
- Military technical or vocational training in Electronics Technology a plus
