ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY-CE/VOC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit)

This adjunct faculty position is part of the non‑credit instructional pool for the San Diego Community College District. Instructors may be assigned to lecture or laboratory courses as determined by the department. Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes. Applicants should reside within commuting distance to San Diego.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Teach all scheduled classes and maintain accurate records.
• Be available to students outside of class hours.
• Maintain appropriate professional conduct and ethics.
• Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Create an environment that encourages discussion and active learning.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR
• An Associate degree and at least six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR
• Equivalents of the above qualifications.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

Additional Requirements

• Full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Electronics Technology (if applicable).
• For foreign or foreign‑degree holders: coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute (ACEI).

All applicants must submit official transcripts and a certificate of a Tuberculosis exam before employment. Fingerprints and proof of eligibility to work in the United States must also be provided.

Applicants may also request an equivalency if not currently meeting minimum qualifications. Equivalency requests must be completed using the Request for Equivalency Form and submitted with supporting documents.
