Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Buffalo, NY is seeking an Assembler 3 to join our Amherst Systems team. The role focuses on assembling electronic components per drawings, performing soldering, wiring, and sub-assembly tasks, and ensuring quality while meeting production timelines.

The position requires 4 years of assembly or electronics experience (or an associate degree) and a readiness to handle varied tasks in a manufacturing setting. Eligibility to work in the U.S. and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• 4 years of assembly or electronic experience; or an associate degree in electronics/technical discipline
• Experience soldering at a Class 2 level
• Experience reading and following written directions and drawings
• Ability to shift between tasks based on business demand
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to move objects up to 40 pounds
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components using drawings, diagrams, and job aids to meet customer requirements
• Perform processes including fine-pitch soldering, BGA rework, and assembly of microelectronics and electromechanical components
• Adhere to industry and company assembly standards
• Perform continuity checks on in-process and completed work
• Operate basic production equipment safely (soldering stations, crimp tools, microscopes, ovens)
• Inspect and ensure workmanship and compliance with build documentation; perform rework as needed
• Record production data in travelers and shop floor systems
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and supervisors to clarify build instructions and improve processes/tools
• Follow safety, ESD, FOD, and cleanliness guidelines
• Complete in-house workmanship training for continued employment
