Job description

Overview

For more than 15 years our manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids has helped the growth and success of GE Aerospace. We produce high quality electronics and avionics parts and equipment to exacting standards, including Avionics Computing Systems, Mission Systems, Navigation and Guidance, and Vehicle Health and Data Management products. As an Electrical Analyzer & Tester you will use your knowledge of analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits to fault‑isolate component/board level electronic avionics products, prescribe rework instructions, and ensure products meet specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Administer standardized functional and environmental tests and troubleshoot from system level down to component level.
  • Understand and follow test specifications and procedures.
  • Ensure product compliance and quality.
  • Troubleshoot electronics systems, circuit card assemblies, and components.
  • Prescribe rework instructions for products needing repair.
  • Maintain product test records in a quality data tracking system.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Associate degree in an electronics technology discipline from an accredited university or college, or high‑school diploma/ GED with two years of technical experience in testing and troubleshooting of highly technical electronic products, including military electronics experience.
  • U.S. citizenship status or appropriate U.S. lawful permanent resident, asylum, or refugee status.
  • Ability and willingness to complete and pass a pre‑employment electronic principles test covering component identification and digital/analog circuit analysis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and PDF viewers.
  • Basic understanding of embedded software.
Desired Characteristics
  • Thorough understanding of analog and digital circuits.
  • Experience with general purpose test instruments such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, phase angle voltmeters, and automated test equipment.
  • Ability to fault‑isolate electronics to the component level.
  • Experience in functional testing and environmental stress screening of class III electronics systems.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and specifications.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation such as schematic diagrams and parts lists.
  • Experience using hand tools for electronics disassembly and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of IPC 610 & J‑STD soldering specifications.
  • Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge precautions.
  • Motivated self‑starter who works under minimum supervision and has keen attention to detail.
