Job summary

SRC in Dallas is seeking an Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (EEG Tech) to perform advanced neurodiagnostic testing such as EEG, EP, NCS, and EMG in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling, chart preparation, patient education, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with Neurologist physicians. Requires AS degree or higher, ABRET registration, and R. EEG T or R. EPT by year end.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Applied Science or higher is preferred.
  • Hold at least one ABRET registration (preferred).
  • R. EEG T or R. EPT certification required by end of first year.

Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Performs, in areas trained, advanced neurophysiology testing procedures, EEG, EP, NCS, EMG using age/developmentally appropriate guidelines.
  • Must be capable of handling multiple tasks effectively and able to maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations.
  • Maintain clinic schedule; contacts patients to schedule procedures when needed.
  • Prepare patient charts and interpret information accurately from reports. Prepares, organizes, and summarizes data for physician review.
  • Enter all required information for reporting purposes.
  • Educate patient/family about diagnostic procedures and provide pre- and post-education.
  • Cleans, replenishes, maintains, and assures availability of instruments and supplies for patient safety.
  • Ensures electrode and equipment integrity, maintains and catalogs supplies, and patient preparation.
  • Performs routine testing under supervision; writes a descriptive technical analysis, calculates nerve conduction values.
  • Conduct and analyze, as trained, complex electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity NCS, or other neurodiagnostic tests. Observes, measures, and record the electrical activity and brain wave patterns by using an encephalograph.
  • Monitor patient's comfort during tests.
  • Inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot client systems and equipment, run tests, interpret the results, source replacement parts, and negotiate costs with suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and Neurologist physicians.
  • And other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Associate degree in Applied Science or higher is preferred or a graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic program CoA-NDT, CAAHEP..
  • Hold at least one (1) registration by ABRET preferred.
  • R. EEG T or R. EPT certification required by end of first year of employment with SRC.
