Job summary

The Electron Microscopy Laboratory at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Electron Microscopy Specialist 2 to prepare, review, and photograph EM specimens from tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. You will work under supervision of senior EM staff within the Renal Pathology division.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, embedding, ultramicrotomy, and assisting other areas as needed, with emphasis on quality control and coordination with technical QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in basic biological science with microscopy courses or EM experience preferred.
• Microscopy Society of America (MSA) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs parts of diagnostic electron microscopy under supervision (acessioning, triaging, processing, embedding, ultramicrotomy).
• Receives, labels, stocks supplies; monitors inventory; performs routine maintenance.
