Job summary

A leading biopharma testing firm is seeking a candidate for a mid-senior level role that requires hands-on experience with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and resin sectioning. The ideal candidate will possess at least a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology or related discipline, along with three years of industry experience. The responsibilities include applying GMP/GLP standards, performing complex analyses, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Excellent benefits and a full-time schedule are offered for this non-remote position based in Lancaster, PA.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years industry experience in electron microscopy techniques.
  • Ability to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Electron Microscopy Biological Certificate of Achievement preferred.

Job Description

This role requires hands on TEM and Resin Sectioning experience.

Responsibilities
  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Applies the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility

  • Performs laboratory operations with good dexterity, good laboratory technique, and high degree of accuracy and precision
  • Performs/review preparations of reagents, samples, and standards according to procedures
  • Performs routine, non‑routine and complex analyses; instrumental analyses; including calibration and troubleshooting/repair of instruments independently
  • Reviews and documents testing, observations, deviations, and results clearly and completely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements – striving to minimize errors
  • Understands and performs calculations as required by test methods
  • Understands and utilizes computers for information access, calculations, and report preparation
  • Reads and understands analytical procedures (compendial and client supplied) and internal SOPs
  • Demonstrates technical writing skills and initiates/supports completing investigations
  • Demonstrates desire to learn independently, including new analytical techniques and non‑routine analyses
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities including:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology, or other related discipline.
  • Ability to work in the US without immediate or potential future sponsorship.
  • Three years industry experience in electron microscopy techniques, such as sample preparation for TEM and ultra‑microtomy.
  • Resin embedding, sectioning, and grid staining.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to follow lengthy instructions. Possess fine motor skills and ability to learn new techniques and instrumentation.

Additional preferences:

  • Electron Microscopy Biological Certificate of Achievement.
  • CEMT‑Certified Electron Microscopy Technologist.
Additional Information

Working schedule will be Full‑Time, First Shift, Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply. 25% travel may be required. This position is NOT remote.
