Job summary

Eurofins USA BioPharma Services in Lancaster, PA, seeks an entry level Microbiologist for the 2nd shift (Tue-Sat, 3pm-11pm). You will train with an experienced analyst, analyze bio/pharmaceutical ingredients, and prepare standards and samples for analysis following GMP/GLP regulations.

You will document results and maintain data quality across tests. You will perform routine lab operations with precision, review procedures, and use Excel/Word for data reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related field.
• Authorization to work in the US indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Experience with microscopes and biosafety cabinets.
• Experience in media preparation, pipetting, and culture prep.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMP/GLP in all tasks and maintain high-quality standards.
• Communicate clearly with team members and clients, orally and in writing.
• Document testing, observations and results accurately and completely.
• Read procedures and SOPs; operate and maintain equipment as required.
• Process data, generate reports, and assist with sample analysis.
• Support overtime when workload requires and ensure timely data delivery.

Entry Level Microbiologist

Job Description

This position is SecondShift, Tuesday-Saturday

Completing all training in a timely and complete manner; working with an experienced analyst/mentor performing various tasks and analyses of Bio/pharmaceutical ingredients and products; reviewing or preparing standards and samples for analysis and running any equipment or instrumentation independently and/or with guidance; working efficiently; ensuring that the client receives quality data by reviewing laboratory data for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to GMP and/or GLP regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
• Applies the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility
• Demonstrates strong client service skills, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Meets all quality and productivity metrics and demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Performs laboratory operations with good dexterity, good laboratory technique, and high degree of accuracy and precision
• Perform/Review preparations of reagents, samples, and standards according to procedures.
• Document testing, observations, deviations, and results clearly and completely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements - striving to minimize errors
• Read and understand analytical procedures (compendial and client supplied) and internal SOP's
• Use MS Windows applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook email
• Process data, generate reports, and evaluate data
• Perform laboratory maintenance and maintain clean workspace
• Commitment to occasional overtime as workload requires
