Job summary

KLA Milpitas, CA is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to advance electron beam inspection and metrology solutions. You will work across hardware, software, and system engineering teams to develop, characterize, and optimize cutting-edge semiconductor inspection capabilities.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in physics, applied physics, electron optics, materials science, electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with complex semiconductor capital equipment, inspection or microscopy systems.
• Experience with SEM/EBI/wafer inspection or related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, integration, characterization, and optimization of advanced electron beam inspection and metrology systems.
• Define system requirements with cross-functional teams and translate to subsystem goals.
• Analyze system performance and support trade-off evaluations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues affecting system functionality and throughput.
• Support root cause investigations for development and field challenges.
• Develop experiments to characterize system behavior and validate performance against requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and field teams for new product introduction and improvements.
• Participate in system-level testing, qualification and performance validation.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
