PI (Physik Instrumente), LP is hiring an Electromechanical Wiring Technician for its Shrewsbury, MA facility. The role involves wiring harnesses, cables, electrical panels and cabinets in a full-time temporary-to-permanent capacity, with a 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule.

You will build and test wiring systems, read schematics and drawings, and ensure quality in an ISO 9001 environment. US work authorization required. Competitive hourly pay is offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
  • 2+ years in wiring or electrical assembly preferred.
  • Experience with wiring harnesses, cables and electrical panels is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Solder and crimp small gauge wires.
  • Assemble cables, wiring harnesses, sub-panels, and cabinets.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical assemblies and cables.
  • Report failures and defects through quality processes.
  • Collaborate with team to meet safety, quality and production goals.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet schedule.
  • Follow 5S and lean ISO 9001 practices.

Job description

We have an immediate opening for an Electromechanical Wiring Technician to work in our electrical assembly department based in our Shrewsbury, MA office. This is a full-time temp to perm position, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. Successful performance and attendance during the initial 90 days will transition into a permanent position. In this role, you will be responsible for the wiring of electrical harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical panels, and cabinets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Soldering and crimping of small gauge wires
  • Electrical assembly of cables, wiring harnesses, electrical sub-panels, and cabinets
  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting defects in electrical assemblies and cables
  • Report failures and defects via company quality processes
  • Ability to cooperate with others in a team effort to achieve quality, safety and productivity goals
  • Ability to work overtime to meet production schedule as needed
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
Skills and Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Proficient with hand crimp tools in the making of cables and/or harnesses
  • Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Cable & Wiring Harness standards, endorsement preferred
  • Familiar with standard D-subminiature connectors
  • Familiar with machine and cabinet wiring
  • Can work with wires from ranging from 10 to 36 AWG
  • Soldering experience is required, J-STD-001 endorsement preferred
  • Able to work from a sitting or standing position for extended periods of time
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field preferred
  • US Citizen or Green Card required – evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US is an employment contingency for this position
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in related field

The pay range for this role is $25-$35 per hour. Compensation is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
