Job summary

Anduril Industries is expanding a new Dive-XL production line at the Quonset Point campus in Rhode Island, seeking a manufacturing test engineer to lead full-vehicle FAT tests and troubleshoot electromechanical systems on the floor.

You will own test procedures, set up the line with minimal bureaucracy, and mentor technicians while collaborating with our global test team; eligible for relocation assistance and security clearance support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electromechanical, electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience designing tests for electromechanical hardware in a manufacturing environment.
• Hardware testing and automated test systems.
• Bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs and programmable power supplies.
• Manufacturing test limits and the common failure modes that manufacturing introduces.
• Running programmed scripts in Python, MATLAB, shell or similar.
• Communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, PCIe, HDMI and CAN.
• Complex electromechanical systems, and what it takes to make them work reliably.
• Full system test plans you wrote and ran on fast product development timelines.
• Programming and testing a wide range of sensors, actuators and electrical components.
• A test you owned from prototype to execution, from the setup through the hardware and software, that you can walk us through in detail.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Run full-vehicle dry FAT and wet FAT in the test tank as test conductor.
• Become the subject-matter expert on the vehicle’s mechanical and electromechanical checks.
• Own the in-water checks in wet FAT and confirm readiness for delivery.
• Own what gets tested and where to cut test time while proving product requirements.
• Push tests upstream to catch problems at the smallest assembly and provide DFT feedback.
• Triage failed steps and route to the right owner, with data-driven root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot vehicle-level failures hands-on and drive fixes back to the line.
• Design and maintain test equipment, rigs and fixtures for FAT.
• Keep FAT procedures matched to the as-built vehicle during design changes.
• Write troubleshooting runbooks with symptoms and fixes for faster next-time resolution.
• Use Python and AI tools to automate test sequences and build dashboards.
• Travel to Sydney to align with the Sydney test team when required.
