Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company in Verona, VA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to service and repair automation equipment. The role covers electrical and mechanical systems with a focus on preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.

You will troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), servo motors, and VFDs, document findings, and support continuous improvement while flexibly covering shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Excellent safety practices are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with low and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting expertise in: Rotary fillers and filling systems; Packaging equipment (conveyance, case packing, palletizing, etc.); Processing systems (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair: PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred); Servo systems and VFDs.
  • Proven ability to diagnose issues across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable using computers and maintenance systems (CMMS experience a plus).
  • Flexible to support shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physically capable of working in an industrial environment, including frequent reaching (31–77 inches).

Job description

$27–$40/hour base pay (based on experience), plus $2.00/hour shift differential for night shifts.

Sign‑On Bonus: $2,500

Location: Verona, VA

Responsible for maintaining electrical and mechanical systems on all automation equipment, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective and preventative measures while following work‑safe practices, GMP, required PPE, confined space safety, chemical handling, and fall restraints.

Essential Duties
