Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, seeks an experienced electromechanics technician to lead preventative maintenance and repair on automated and non-automated equipment across two sites: Aberdeen, NC and West Columbia, SC. You will troubleshoot PLCs, robotics, and general machinery to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires strong reading of instructions, hands-on tool skills, teamwork, and a commitment to EHS standards, with travel between sites and company reimbursement of expenses.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience required.
  • Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training or experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and manuals and follow step-by-step.
  • PLC and robotics maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential.
  • Skilled with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belts, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of CMMS and its function.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work with a team or independently.
  • Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Experience with EHS risks tasks like lock out tag out, confined spaces and heights.
  • Valid driver's license; travel between two sites; reimbursements provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to EHS programs to keep people safe.
  • Install, adjust, repair, and troubleshoot production equipment and machines as assigned.
  • Operate hand and power tools to repair, grease, and replace parts.
  • Program and maintain PLC equipment.
  • Program and maintain robotic equipment.
  • Welding, torching, and light machining as required.
  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and complete repairs.
  • Install equipment and electrical components and test functionality.
  • Dismantle equipment to access/remove defective parts using hoists and tools.
  • Replace and install parts as needed.
  • Lubricate and clean parts/equipment; ensure proper operation.
  • Other duties as needed; may be temporary or permanent.
  • Serve as a reference for other electromechanics.

Job Summary

This role is mainly responsible for the overall preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of automated and non-automated equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Assistant Site and Reliability Manager or his representative. This role covers two (2) sites (Aberdeen, NC and West Columbia, SC). Other responsibilities may include assisting the plant personnel on a need basis.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure to respect EHS programs, procedures and policies at all times to ensure the employee's safeness and his/her colleagues
  • Install, adjust, repair and troubleshoot production equipment, and special purpose machines as assigned
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned
  • Program and maintain PLC equipment
  • Program and maintain the robotic equipment
  • Welding, torching, and light machining as required
  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures
  • Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through with these repairs to assure proper operation of equipment in a safe, timely manner
  • Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
  • Replace and install parts as needed
  • Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
  • Serve as a reference to the other electromechanics
Job Requirements
