Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Aberdeen, NC is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician to perform preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting on automated and manual equipment. The role supports two sites (Aberdeen, NC and West Columbia, SC) and requires PLC/robotics expertise and strong tool skills.

You will work with maintenance teams to install, test, and service components, while following EHS standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of maintenance/technician experience.
• Read and follow manuals and instructions precisely.
• PLC and robotics maintenance experience required.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and electricity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and troubleshoot automated and non-automated equipment.
• Install, adjust and repair production equipment and machines.
• Program and maintain PLC and robotic systems.
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance on plant structures.
• Ensure compliance with EHS programs and safety policies.

Job Summary

This role is mainly responsible for the overall preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of automated and non-automated equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Assistant Site and Reliability Manager or his representative. This role covers two (2) sites (Aberdeen, NC and West Columbia, SC). Other responsibilities may include assisting the plant personnel on a need basis.

Job Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

• Ensure to respect EHS programs, procedures and policies at all times to ensure the employee’s safeness and his/her colleagues
• Install, adjust, repair and troubleshoot production equipment, and special purpose machines as assigned
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned
• Program and maintain PLC equipment
• Program and maintain the robotic equipment
• Welding, torching, and light machining as required
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures
• Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through with these repairs to assure proper operation of equipment in a safe, timely manner
• Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
• Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
• Replace and install parts as needed
• Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
• Serve as a reference to the other electromechanics

Job Requirements

• 7+ years of experience required
• Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training or experience
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions
• PLC and robotics maintenance experience
• Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related field preferred
• Knowledge of CMMS system and its function
• Be able to work with a team or independently
• Full understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
• Experienced with EHS risks tasks like lock out tag out, close space and heights
• Valid driver’s license since the role requires travel between 2 sites. The company will reimburse expenses.
