Job summary

SiFly is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve electromechanical manufacturing processes for our UAV platform. You will work on NPI, production ramp, and sustained manufacturing with a strong focus on electromechanical assembly and PCBA integration.

The role requires direct production experience, PCB fabrication knowledge, and the ability to travel for supplier and contract-manufacturing support. On-site in Santa Clara, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting complex electromechanical products.
• Experience with products built, tested, released and shipped.
• Experience supporting NPI, production launch/ramp, and sustained manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly processes and PCBA integration.
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication and PCBA manufacturing/assembly (SMT, through-hole, soldering, rework).
• Experience with DFM/DFA, tooling/fixtures, PFMEA, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for production builds and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and improve electromechanical assembly processes from NPI to ramp.
• Define assembly sequences, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Create and maintain work instructions and process docs.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and production equipment.
• Control assembly processes including fastening, adhesives, soldering, and wiring.
• Support PCBA integration processes and PCB/PCBA manufacturing issues.
• Lead PFMEA, control plans, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
• Improve cycle time, throughput, quality, and capacity on the production floor.
