Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking an Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer to scale production of spacecraft electromechanical assemblies. You will own wire harnesses, connector installation, actuator integration, and cabling routing while ensuring quality and reliability.

You will drive incremental improvements, rewrite work instructions when needed, and collaborate with design and production teams to meet schedule and cost goals.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years manufacturing electromechanical assemblies in high-reliability industries.
• Experience with wire harness fabrication and connector assembly to MIL-spec / IPC standards.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret pinouts.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing and assembly processes for payload systems.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, travelers, specs, and acceptance tests.
• Interface with payload customers to translate requirements into production processes.
• Implement contamination control and cleanliness protocols for sensitive hardware.
• Collaborate with design engineers on DFM/DFX feedback for assembly.
• Lead root-cause analysis and CO for non-conformances; coordinate MRB dispositions.
• Coordinate payload integration milestones with vehicle teams.
