Job summary

PPG in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. You will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with production to keep lines running efficiently.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, hands-on diagnostic experience, and a willingness to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic domains.
• Hands-on experience with test and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work from technical drawings and documentation.
• Detail-oriented problem solver with a strong sense of urgency.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently as needed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or shift changes, when required.
• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license for travel between two plant locations.
• Experienced operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and SkyTrac.
• PLC experience preferred.

Location: Grand Prairie, Tx | Shift: Days- 6:00AM-2:30PM | Starting Pay: $31.05/hour

What you’ll do

• Perform inspections, routine service, and corrective repairs on industrial machinery.
• Use diagnostic tools to pinpoint faults and return equipment to optimal performance.
• Execute preventive maintenance strategies that reduce failures and increase uptime.
• Interpret technical manuals and schematics to plan work and verify results.
• Coordinate maintenance windows with production to minimize interruption.
• Document all work performed and report equipment condition and trends.
• Enforce safety practices, including PPE and strict lock-out/tag-out adherence.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new or upgraded assets.
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Support general facilities maintenance needs as required.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and SkyTrac safely and efficiently.
• Fabricate repair parts as needed to complete timely, durable fixes.
• Communicate status and next steps clearly; maintain an orderly shop and work areas.
