Job summary

Megan Soft Inc. in Allen Park, MI seeks an Inverter Testing Technologist to support current and next-generation traction inverter development. You will fabricate test stands, assemble samples, instrument with sensors, and build HV wiring harnesses in a hands-on lab setting.

You will configure lab equipment, troubleshoot experiments, and perform routine maintenance. The role also covers inventory management and daily safety practices in a busy R&D lab environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an R&D, validation, or test lab designing and tearing down complex electromechanical test setups.
• 2+ years in LV/HV wiring harness fabrication, assembly, and quality inspection.
• Manual machining, prototyping, and fabricating test fixtures from CAD drawings or engineering drawings.
• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems (208VAC–480VAC; 50VDC–1000VDC) and lab safety protocols (ECPL/LOTO).
• Preferred: 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
• Metrology with GD&T and precision measuring tools; PCB soldering (through-hole and SMT).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom structural test stands and assemble complex test setups from drawings.
• Inspect inverter components such as capacitors, power modules, and busbars; wire harnesses and sensor instrumentation.
• Configure and operate high-voltage testers, thermal chambers, and power cyclers; troubleshoot setups and perform teardowns.
• Maintain inventory, shipping/receiving, calibration, and a clean, safe lab environment.
