Job summary

QCi is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer to develop and integrate electro-optic, opto-electronic, RF, and photonic modules in Bedford, MA. This on-site role emphasizes multidisciplinary engineering across concept to manufacturing transfer.

The candidate will own integration and packaging, develop test plans, and collaborate with product development and manufacturing teams to ensure reliability and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of electromechanical product development experience.
• Experience integrating PCBs, interconnects, packaging and mechanical structures into manufacturable hardware.
• Experience with PCB design tools: Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or equivalent.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD: SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Python or similar for automation and data analysis.
• Experience creating component libraries with footprints, symbols, sourcing info, lifecycle management.
• Hands-on lab experience with hardware assembly, testing and characterization.
• Ability to solve multidisciplinary problems with electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own electromechanical integration and packaging of EO/OE/photonic/RF modules, including interconnects and thermal systems.
• Design fixtures, tooling and support hardware for assembly, testing and qualification.
• Develop electrical test plans and perform functional and S-parameter characterization.
• Develop data acquisition and analysis tools using Python or similar scripting languages.
• Support manufacturing transfer, DFx, yield improvement and production support.
