Job summary

Qualifications

• US citizen with STAR ID.
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Science from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–10 years of applicable EMC experience.
• Experience in EMC analysis and test planning for space hardware.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, -462, -464 or equivalents.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, Excel.
• Experience with HFSS, FEKO or equivalents.
• Knowledge of EMI lab equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscopes).
• Programming in C or Visual Basic.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.

TriVector Services, Inc., is seeking qualified candidates to fill our EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Engineer (ES3) position.

The EMC Engineer will provide Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineering support to the ES31 RF, E3 & GN&C Branch of the Space Systems Department in the Engineering Directorate for the area of aerospace/avionics, space hardware applications, etc. The E3 support provided will include EMC analysis, requirement definition, test planning, and circuit test and analysis. In addition, this individual will have the opportunity to prepare inputs to, or assist in development of:

• Project documentation
• Requirement verification
• Requirement validation
• Presentation and trade study reports/packages

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen and have a STAR ID
• A BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Science from a ABET accredited institutione is required.
• Must have at least five (5) to ten (10) years of applicable experience.
• The EMC Engineer must have experience in EMC analysis, EMC test planning and procedures, and critical circuit test and analysis as related to space or flight hardware and systems.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, -462, -464 or equivalent specifications is required.
• Must be proficient with common computer operating systems and Microsoft Office software programs. .
• Proficiency with the following is required:
• Mathematical Analyses (MATLAB, MathCAD, Excel)
• Analysis Tools (spice software and electromagnetic simulation software such as High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) , FEKO or equivalent)
• Operational knowledge of EMI Lab Test Equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators)
• Familiarity with Programming Languages (C, Visual Basic).
• Excellent organizational skills and an ability to perform technical tasks independently is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in evaluating test and analysis data and waivers in the areas of electromagnetic interference (EMI), electrostatic discharge, corona, grounding, isolation, bonding, and wiring is a plus.
