Job description

Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products — from lithium–sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries. Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.

At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose — and with people who want to make a difference. We’re not just developing advanced supermaterials — we’re about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.

We’re entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Electrolyte Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe preparation, mixing, and quality control of advanced liquid electrolytes used in next-generation Lithium‑Sulfur (Li‑S) battery development. You will work closely with R&D scientists and engineering teams to assist in formulating novel electrolyte mixtures, maintaining glove box systems and QC instrumentation, and supporting post-test cell failure analysis from lab-scale experimentation to pilot cell fabrication.

  • Hand-mix a variety of liquid electrolytes in glove box, following established standard operating procedure (S.O.P.) and ensure electrolytes are prepared timely and properly in support of Lyten’s R&D and Pilot cell fabrication efforts.
  • Run QC measurements on liquid electrolytes prepared, and maintain and calibrate QC equipment.
  • Support failure analysis efforts with post-test cell disassembly in glove box, followed by physical, compositional, or electrochemical characterization, as instructed by engineers and scientists.
  • Maintain an accurate and well-organized lab notebook.
  • Manage inventory of chemicals and lab consumables
  • Schedule and run regular maintenance procedures on glove boxes
  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5S and LEAN manufacturing principles

Required Qualifications:

  • · Associate/Bachelor’s degree (unrelated field) AND 5+ years of experience in R&D or low volume manufacturing OR 1+ years of experience with significant responsibilities at a high-volume cell manufacturing facility.
  • · Demonstrated knowledge in Li-S battery and/or Li-ion battery materials, synthesis, testing, and analysis
  • · Experience in electrochemical analysis/failure analysis/electrolyte development and cell fabrication
  • · Hands‑on experience in electrochemical testing methodologies such as Arbin/Maccor/Bio-Logic testing systems and techniques including EIS, CV, GITT/PITT, etc.
  • · Strong Knowledge of organic liquids and their interface with a lithium anode, characterization techniques such as GC‑MS, FTIR, XPS, SEM, etc
  • · An aptitude to work as an active team member, learning new things, and a keen eye for improving cell performance
  • · Self‑taught, self‑motivated and work as a team in a competitive environment
  • · Ability to advance multiple projects in a fast‑paced multidisciplinary environment
