Job summary

The Leidos team at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH seeks an Electro-Optics Test Engineer to design and execute lab- and field-based electro-optical experiments for an applied R&D contract. You will build testbeds, develop control and data acquisition hardware, and analyze results.

Required are a 4+ year background in relevant fields, US citizenship for TS clearance, experience with MATLAB/ LabVIEW, and strong communication skills. Travel to field tests is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electro-optics, physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• US citizen able to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with electro-optical equipment, data collection/analysis, test plans and reporting.
• Experience with lasers, optics, detectors, cameras, and calibration equipment.
• Willingness to travel for periodic field test events.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Mathcad, or Mathematica.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define testbed requirements based on test objectives.
• Design, procure parts, build, align and calibrate custom testbeds.
• Design, procure parts for data acquisition hardware.
• Execute experimental protocols and measurements to gather data.
• Develop data acquisition tools using LabVIEW and data reduction with MATLAB.
• Interface with vendors for project scopes and capabilities.
• Occasional on-site field testing and equipment validation.
• Work independently and with a team, communicating clearly.
