Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking an assembler of precision opto-mechanical and electro-optical components. Under supervision, you will assemble subsystems and perform test and verification per production procedures.

You will interpret drawings, install and align subassemblies, operate test software, and verify optical paths. Applicants should be detail-oriented with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, and electro-optical systems a plus.
  • Printed circuit board (PCB) assembly experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Able and willing to lift up to 50 pounds for short durations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn on the job.

Responsabilités

  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, technical manuals and procedures to perform assembly and test operations.
  • Assemble, install, align, and adjust electro-optical, mechanical, and electronic subassemblies.
  • Operate computer-based test software and diagnostic tools to verify sensor functionality, calibration, and alignment.
  • Perform optical alignment activities, including laser operation and verification of optical paths.
  • Use precision hand tools to make fine mechanical and optical adjustments to meet performance specs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electro-optical issues using test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, generators).
  • Apply adhesives, epoxies, and bonding compounds per procedures and curing requirements.
  • Verify that all assembly, alignment, and test steps are completed accurately and in order.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and documentation compliance.
  • Document test results, inspections, and process completion in electronic systems.
  • Maintain high attention to detail to ensure product reliability, performance, and flight-critical integrity.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description
Job Summary:

Under general supervision, assemble precision components or subsystems having both opto-mechanical and electro-optical assemblies. Perform test and verification procedures for complex opto-mechanical and electro-optical components and subassemblies using defined production procedures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, technical manuals, and procedures to perform assigned assembly and test operations
  • Assemble, install, align, and adjust electro-optical, mechanical, and electronic subassemblies
  • Operate computer-based test software and diagnostic tools to verify sensor functionality, calibration, and alignment
  • Perform optical alignment activities, including laser operation and verification of optical paths
  • Use precision hand tools to make fine mechanical and optical adjustments to meet performance specifications
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electro-optical issues using test equipment such as digital multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, signal generators and other diagnostic instruments
  • Apply adhesives, epoxies, and bonding compounds in accordance with approved procedures and curing requirements
  • Verify that all assembly, alignment, and test steps are completed accurately and in the proper sequence
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and documentation requirements
  • Document test results, inspections, and process completion in electronic systems
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure product reliability, performance, and flight-critical integrity
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
  • High school degree or GED required, Associates degree preferred
  • 1 - 2 years of experience troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, and electro-optical systems and components strongly preferred
  • Printed circuit board (PCB) assembly experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
