Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. is seeking a skilled technician to support engineers and scientists, test and repair complex assemblies, interpret wiring diagrams, and design prototype units in a multidisciplinary environment.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, hands-on experience with electronics, soldering, chemical safety, and proficiency with Access, Excel, LabVIEW, with opportunities for growth and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated decision-making and leadership abilities
• Experience handling small delicate components with ESD practices
• Soldering and wirebonding experience a plus
• Safe handling of chemicals required
• Proficient with computer applications including Access, Excel, and LabVIEW
• MRP experience a plus
• Strong mechanical skills

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and scientists on moderately complex components, devices, materials, products, processes and/or equipment
• Test, modify, rework, and repair electronic, optical and mechanical assemblies
• Work from moderately complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches
• Design and test prototype assemblies and production units
• Use judgment in re‑working or re‑wiring to bring unit within quality control specifications
• Test, inspect, and repair electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies
• Work under minimal supervision and may provide guidance to other technicians
• Capable of performing related manufacturing processes
• Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rules
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company and certifications
• May assist in training new team members
• Interface with other departments to ensure efficient flow of information and materials
• Meet production deadlines; monitor quality, materials stock levels, and compliance outcomes
• Coordinate several activities and re-prioritize as needed
• Support and reinforce mission, values and culture of the organization
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework; test and repair various electronic and mechanical assemblies
• Fulfill day‑to‑day facilities work requests (furniture assembly and installation)
• Hang whiteboards, monitors, shelving, signage, and other fixtures
• Coordinate minor office/plant space setup, moves, and reconfigurations
• Perform minor repairs to office/plant spaces and escalate larger repairs as needed
• Track and prioritize facilities requests and coordinate timelines
• Maintain inventory of common furniture and mounting supplies
• Coordinate with vendors/building management for larger facilities needs
