Job summary

Leonardo DRS seeks a technically skilled technician to provide support to engineers, test and repair electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies. You will work from complex drawings, assist in prototype design, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Your role includes handling delicate components with ESD practices, soldering and wirebonding when needed, and coordinating with other departments to maintain production flow and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area.
• Demonstrates strong decision-making and leadership skills.
• Experience handling small delicate components with ESD practices.
• Soldering and wirebonding experience a plus.
• Safe handling of chemicals; familiarity with various computer applications (Access, Excel, LabVIEW).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and scientists on moderately complex components, devices, materials, products, processes and/or equipment.
• Test, modify, rework, and repair electronic, optical and mechanical assemblies.
• Work from wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, and engineering specifications.
• Design and test prototype assemblies and production units.
• Interpret and follow SOPs, safety rules, and quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and certification requirements.
