Job summary

Dematic is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 to troubleshoot and perform preventative/predictive maintenance on MHE installed at the Chanel site in New Jersey. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required, with a Monday-Thursday 2:30 pm–11:00 pm shift and Friday 12:30 pm–9:00 pm.

The role emphasizes hands-on repair, PM routines, and accurate documentation, ensuring equipment reliability and uptime while collaborating across shifts and teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.
• Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds.
• Regular bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Flexibility to cover multiple shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking and component replacement.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines and documentation.
• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.
• Create and close work orders with data on labor hours, maintenance, and parts.
• Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and identify resources needed to resolve them.
• Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
• Respond to service calls and correct equipment faults.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across the organization.

Job description

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance. Acts as a material handling technician on all equipment that is installed at the Chanel site. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

Shift schedule is Monday - Thursday 2:30 pm - 11 pm and Friday: 12:30 pm to 9 pm. Some weekends and overtime as required to meet onsite operational needs.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $30 to $32.00 an hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do In This Role

• Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.
• Create and close work orders into asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
• Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and understand resources needed to resolve them.
• Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
• Performs routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.
• Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.
• Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organizations.

What We Are Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Typically, an associate degree or vocational technical training is preferred. Specialized skill training/certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.
• Proven experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.
• Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
• Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
• Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
