How You Will Make an Impact
The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintenance of a variety of complex electro‑mechanical equipment and systems including fabrication equipment, automation, robotics, and control systems. The technician plays a key role in implementing new equipment, processes, and technology.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Fabrication Equipment Maintenance:
- Service and repair fabrication equipment, including lasers, press brakes, coil lines, and CNC punch presses.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
- System Integration and Implementation:
- Implement new equipment and technologies into existing systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Provide input on equipment designs and modifications to enhance performance.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance procedures and manuals.
- Support Across Maintenance Areas:
- Assist other maintenance areas as needed when not servicing automated equipment.
- Provide support in various maintenance tasks to ensure overall operational efficiency.
- Provide emergency unscheduled repairs, which may require overtime and weekends.
- Provide regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Aids with facility snow removal.
- PLC and Controls Maintenance:
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC systems and control mechanisms.
- Conduct diagnostics and repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Robotics and Automation Maintenance:
- Maintain and troubleshoot robotic systems and automated machinery.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and calibration to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement automation upgrades and enhancements.
Required Credentials
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in maintenance, focusing on fabrication and automated equipment.
- Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC, controls, robotics, automation, and complex electro‑mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing fabrication equipment, including lasers, press brakes, and CNC punch presses.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and reliability‑centered maintenance.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
