Job summary

Greif is a global leader in performance packaging with facilities across the United States. We are seeking an Electro Mechanical Technician in West Palm Beach to maintain and repair complex manufacturing equipment, read blueprints, and follow safety protocols to ensure production efficiency.

• Minimum five years experience as a well-rounded technician capable of troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical and electrical industrial equipment.
• At least three years experience with complex troubleshooting of production equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and measurement tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems required.
• Must use appropriate safety gear and demonstrate strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly and systems operating efficiently.
• Document all repairs and adjustments via maintenance work order system.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluids and filters; follow checklists for maintenance actions.
• Maintain inventory of critical parts and order as needed.
• Utilize tools from hand tools to precision measuring devices and testing equipment.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical components, pipe systems, machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using blueprints and repair manuals; plan repair work from diagrams.
• Operate machine tools and welding equipment to repair or fabricate parts when needed.
• Align and balance new equipment after installation; inspect parts for dimensional changes.

Job Requirements

• Minimum five years experience as a well-rounded technician capable of troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical and electrical industrial equipment
• Must have at least three years experience with complex troubleshooting of production equipment
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and measurement tools
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems required
• Must use appropriate safety gear to perform specific functions of the job Excellent communication and time management skills

Primary Accountabilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
• Document all repairs and adjustments via maintenance work order system
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
• Maintaining critical parts inventory.
• Utilize tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
• Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Align and balance new equipment after installation
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
• Set-up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
• Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $24.18 - $41.20annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between32.00 to35.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
