Summary

The Electro Mechanical Technician (EMT) performs both mechanical and electrical maintenance duties including pipe fitting, welding, machining, hydraulics, instrumentation, sheet metal work, troubleshooting, repairing, and cleaning systems, equipment, and components using industry standards for precision maintenance.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs: pipe fitting, welding, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, sheet metal work.
  2. Perform electrical and controls troubleshooting and repairs to support process operations, including instrumentation, controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and basic electrical work.
  3. Engage in special projects and equipment improvements.
  4. Participate in safety programs, TPM teams, and PM optimization.
  5. Comply with plant rules and corporate policies concerning business conduct.
  6. Maintain safety regulations and a clean, orderly work environment.
  7. Attend regularly on-site and work varying shifts.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in precision maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to identify, recommend, and implement reliability and safety improvements.
  • Proper and safe use of hand and shop tools and equipment.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
  • Familiarity with HMIs, PLCs, and servos.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the U.S.
Computer and Software Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and control systems (PLC, Allen Bradley).

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass maintenance skill tests.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Lift up to 40 lbs routinely; up to 80 lbs with assistance.
  • Work in extreme hot/cold environments for up to 12 hours.
  • Stand and walk on concrete floors continuously.
  • Work at heights, in cramped spaces, and confined spaces.
  • Use PPE as required.
  • Attend regularly and work rotating shifts.
