Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience with gimballed camera systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture design tools preferred.
  • Experience supporting customers via email/phone/in person preferred.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test Trillium’s gimballed camera systems in a low-rate and full-rate production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair non-functional gimbals, Printed Circuit Boards and other assemblies.
  • Complete all relevant system transactions in ERP, collaboration, and shop floor systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, testing results, and modifications; document assembly procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Inspect products, materials, or components to identify defects or deviations from quality standards using calipers, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Conduct product tests and experiments to analyze performance and identify issues; document results and make improvements recommendations.
  • Collect and maintain data related to quality metrics, defects, and testing results.
  • Perform routine maintenance on testing equipment; ensure tools are calibrated and functional.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies; work with engineers on design and manufacturing improvements.

Purpose of Position:

This role produces and ensures the proper functioning of electro-mechanical systems and components used in unmanned aircraft systems. This position is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining complex electrical, optical, and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet rigorous quality, safety, and performance standards. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
  • Assemble and test Trillium’s gimballed camera systems in a low-rate and full-rate production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair non-functional gimbals, Printed Circuit Boards and other assemblies.
  • Complete all relevant system transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), collaboration, and shop floor systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, testing results, and any modifications made. Create comprehensive documentation outlining assembly procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Inspect products, materials, or components to identify defects or deviations from quality standards. Use various inspection tools and techniques, such as calipers, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Conduct product tests and experiments to analyze their performance and identify potential issues. Document and analyze test results and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Collect and maintain data related to quality metrics, defects, and testing results.
  • Perform routine maintenance on testing equipment and tools used in gimbal assembly and testing. Ensure all tools are properly calibrated and in proper working order.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to provide feedback on design improvements and manufacturing processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, preferred
  • Ability to rework PCBs to IPC standards and document rework, preferred
  • 4 years’ experience assembling complex electromechanical products in a production environment, preferred.
  • 2 years’ electronics technician degree, preferred.
  • Experience with the gimballed camera system, preferred.
  • Familiarity or experience with schematic capture design tools, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support customers via e-mail, phone or in person, preferred.
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen, preferred.
Physical Demands of Position:
  • Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)
  • Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
