Job summary

Dematic is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 for the DHL/Nike site in Memphis, TN. This night shift role (5pm-5am) follows a Panama swing schedule with alternating weeks.

You will diagnose and repair Material Handling Equipment and perform preventative maintenance, documenting work orders and parts used. Requirements include a High School diploma (associates preferred) and 2–3 years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience.

• 2–3 years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Proven experience in the stated responsibilities and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking and component replacement.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines and document procedures.
• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.
• Create and close work orders with labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
• Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and identify resources needed to resolve them.
• Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
• Perform routine maintenance and equipment testing to meet specifications.
• Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance on Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Acts as a material handling maintenance technician on all equipment that is installed at the DHL/Nike location in Memphis, TN. The position is for Night-shift from 5pm-5am, working a Panama swing shift schedule. Week 1 - Work - Mon, Tues/ OFF Wed-Thurs/Work Fri, Sat, Sun Week 2 - Off- Mon, Tues/Work-Wed, Thurs/Off - Fri, Sat, Sun.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $ 28.00 to $ 33.50 an hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications

What You Will Do In This Role

• Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.
• Create and close work orders into an asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
• Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and understand resources needed to resolve them.
• Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
• Performs routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.
• Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.
• Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

What We Are Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Typically, an associate degree or vocational technical training is preferred. Specialized skill training/certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.
• Proven experience in the area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.
• Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
• Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours.
• Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
