Build A Better Foundation with Westlake Pipe & FittingsWestlake Pipe & Fittings (NYSE: WLK) is among North America’s largest manufacturers of PVC pipe and fittings. From municipal water and sewer to plumbing, water well, pool & spa, and agricultural/turf irrigation, our 23 manufacturing and distribution facilities deliver gasketed, solvent-weld, and restrained-joint solutions. We’re recognized for product innovation, including our Certa-Lok spline-lock technology—supporting communities and infrastructure from the ground up.A day in this roleYou begin with a safety huddle, then make your rounds across the extrusion floor—checking compressors, chilled/recycled/city water systems, MCCs, and distribution panels. A line goes down; you triage quickly, isolate energy using LOTO, and diagnose the fault using your multimeter and schematics. Between calls, you execute PMs—lubrication, filter swaps, oil changes—and document everything in SAP, including labor and materials. In quieter moments, you assist with installing a new motor, calibrating sensors, and verifying controls. By shift end, you’ve returned equipment to service, prevented future failures, and kept the operation stable.Core responsibilitiesOwn routine mechanical and electrical maintenance across plant equipment; respond rapidly to breakdowns and restore operations.Execute preventive maintenance per schedule: lubrication, filter inspection/replacement, oil changes, painting/cleaning, plumbing, motor and pump replacements.Support installation, upkeep, and repair of electromechanical assets (motors, sensors, control components).Inspect and test equipment regularly to detect issues early; complete accurate SAP work orders, time, and parts usage.Work across utilities and distribution: compressed air; chilled/recycled/city water; electrical distribution panels, bus disconnects, and primary breakers.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow all company policies and safety procedures, including LOTO.Handle routine assignments independently and assist with other tasks as needed.ScheduleWe operate 24/7 extrusion lines. You may be scheduled on 12-hour 2-3-2 rotations or a 9-hour, 5-day-per-week shift to ensure full coverage. Overtime may be required based on business needs. What you bringWorking knowledge of mechanical and electrical fundamentals, plus hands-on experience with common tools and diagnostic gear.Foundational PLC exposure and basic programming familiarity.Analytical problem-solver with a growth mindset and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Clear written and verbal communication; collaborative, detail-focused, and well organized.Technical strengthsComfort with multimeters and other test instruments; understanding of motor controls and basic circuit design.Baseline knowledge of automation technologies; HMI and PLC interaction.Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.Preferred proficienciesMechanical Troubleshooting Skills120/208/240/480 Voltage SystemsCommercial Electrical ExpertiseElectrical RepairOSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)Relay TestingInsulation Resistance TestingHVAC MaintenancePneumatics TroubleshootingMaintenance and Repair SkillsIndustrial Electrical ExperienceIndustrial Electrical SystemsDiesel & Heavy Equipment SystemsHydraulic Systems & ComponentsEquipment Diagnostics & TroubleshootingMechanical Systems & Component RepairLockout/Tagout (LOTO)Electrical Schematic ReadingEquipment Installation & WiringEquipment Repair & MaintenanceEquipment InstallationAutomotive Manufacturing SystemsMachine Safety InspectionsTools and systems you’ll useMotor Control Centers (MCCs)Multimeters and related diagnostic toolsInjection molding machinesIndustrial blenders/mixersExtrusion linesPLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, B&R Industrial Automation) and HMIsSAP for work orders, labor tracking, and materialsWork environment & physical demandsExpect frequent standing and walking; reaching and handling with hands; climbing/balancing; and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
