We are a 24/7 extrusion operation with 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑3‑2 schedule that typically rotates days to nights every six months, and a 9‑hour, 5‑day per week shift to cover the 24‑hour operation. Depending on business needs, you may be asked to work any of these shifts and overtime. You should have a basic knowledge of our facility’s layout: compressed‑air systems; chilled water, recycled water, and city water systems; electrical distribution panels; bus bar disconnects; and primary circuit breakers. You will be responsible for maintaining all equipment in all plant areas, covering all emergency breakdowns and repairs promptly. Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, as well as basic welding and fabrication skills, are required. Tasks include preventative maintenance: lubrication, filter inspection and replacement, oil changes, motor and pump replacements, plumbing, painting, cleaning, and any other mechanical and electrical duties assigned. Adequate computer skills are needed to use SAP to generate work orders, track labor, and consume materials. High safety standards must be maintained.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40‑50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risks of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level is usually loud.
The base pay range for this position is $27.00 to $35.00. The range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign‑on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, including a full range of medical and other benefits.
