Job description

The Maritime Systems Division (MSD) of Leidos develops, integrates, and deploys advanced technology solutions for maritime missions across the Department of Defense (DoD). Our Lynnwood, WA facility is expanding due to significant growth and is seeking a talented Electro-Mechanical Production Technician to join our lean manufacturing team. You will collaborate with engineers and technicians to assemble and test electro-mechanical devices, improve processes, and maintain a clean manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Assemble complex electro-mechanical systems and sub-systems, including polyurethane encapsulation and soldering.
2. Test and collect data using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and impedance analyzers.
3. Maintain an organized and clean workspace following 5S principles, including preventive maintenance of equipment and tools.
4. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using industry best practices like Root Cause Analysis and Kaizen.
5. Follow precise Standard Work instructions and contribute to process improvements.

Basic Qualifications

1. Experience with development, production, and support of sophisticated electro-mechanical products for DoD customers.
2. Inspection and testing of CCAs and Piezoelectrics for conformance to drawings.
3. Leading process improvement projects within work cells and manufacturing floors.
4. Writing or redlining work instructions for new processes.
5. Ability to interpret assembly drawings.
6. Proficiency in understanding work instructions.
7. Ability to assemble small components into limited-space subsystems.
8. Competence with crimpers, wire strippers, and soldering irons.
9. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, adhesives, and scales.
10. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
11. Knowledge of ESD, FOD, and EH&S standards.
12. Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one quickly.
13. High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience handling Hazmat.
2. J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 Certification.
3. Kitting experience.
4. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
5. Experience in lean manufacturing practices.
