APPLIED PHYSICAL SCIENCES CORP in Stonington, CT, is looking for a motivated Electro-Mechanical Potting Technician with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly. This full-time position involves potting or encapsulation of equipment, requiring collaboration with engineering and fabrication teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
• Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Detail-oriented and process-oriented with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and assembly instructions.
• Perform preparation work to clean and treat molds and prime electronic components.
• Mix, degas, and pour potting material.
• Cure potted sub-assemblies in curing ovens.
• Inspect potted assemblies for a solid, water-tight seal.

Skills

Knowledge of basic electronic principles

Soldering in accordance with J-STD and IPC standards

Engineering drawing reading and interpretation

Operate basic hand tools and stationary fabrication equipment

Basic computer skills
