Engineering Manager

Role and Responsibilities

1. Electrical: Troubleshooting control problems, reading electrical prints, understanding PLCs and their programs, troubleshooting VFD controls and motors, installing conduit and pulling wires.
2. Mechanical: Reading mechanical drawings and assembly prints, gearbox and mechanical drive repairs, mechanical punch press repair, conveyor repairs, brake and clutch replacements.
3. Hydraulic: Reading hydraulic prints, troubleshooting hydraulic issues, component identification and replacement.
4. Pneumatics: Reading schematics, understanding system operation, troubleshooting problems.
5. General Maintenance: Welding and fabrication, painting, building maintenance, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning (limited), preventative maintenance, and other tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school or college classes preferred.
• Preferably 8 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment as a Maintenance Mechanic.
• Industrial Electrician with blueprint reading skills, PLC, and electronics knowledge strongly desired.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Proficiency with measuring devices, good shop math and mechanical skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot various types of problems with automated machinery, presses, furnaces, HVAC, plumbing, and other equipment.
• Competence in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Welding skills, proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
• Must have valid work authorization for the US to work at ABB.
