Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA seeks an Electro-Mechanical Instrument Student Co-op or Intern to support the development of precision inertial guidance instruments. You’ll engage in electro‑mechanical design, thermal modeling, magnetics, and hardware testing, using CREO/SolidWorks and ANSYS/COMSOL while coordinating with manufacturing and lab teams.

Ideal candidates are Mechanical, Aerospace, or Applied Physics students with hands-on experience and a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering student with a 3.0+ GPA and hands-on experience required.
  • Experience with CREO or SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support R&D of precision inertial guidance instruments.
  • Design instrument components using CAD and modeling tools.
  • Collaborate with Draper’s prototype shop to evaluate machinability and assemble hardware.
