Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Instrument Student Co-op or Intern to assist in R&D for precision inertial guidance instruments. You will design components using CREO/SolidWorks, model thermal and magnetic aspects, and help build/test hardware with Draper's shops and manufacturing partners.

Applicants should be Mechanical/Aerospace/Applied Physics students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and hands-on experience; CREO/SolidWorks plus LabVIEW/MATLAB skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or applied physics student with a minimum 3.0 GPA and hands-on experience.
  • Experience with CREO or SolidWorks preferred.
  • Design, precision mechanics, magnetics, thermal control, electro-mechanical, fluids, circuit theory, machine shop interaction, technical assembly, Excel, LabVIEW, MATLAB, MCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Support research and development of precision inertial guidance instruments.
  • Contribute to instrument component design using CAD/FEA and collaborate with prototype shop.
  • Build and test hardware, coordinate with additive manufacturing for parts, and use 3D modelling and analysis tools.
