Job summary

AeroVironment in Germantown, MD is seeking a Production Technician to test/assemble electro-mechanical systems in our manufacturing facility, following released drawings and assembly instructions using our work order system.

The role requires mechanical assembly with hand and power tools, potential soldering, and collaboration with engineering to improve documents and processes. A hands-on, detail-oriented team player is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-2 years in manufacturing/production in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test.
• Experience with hand tools including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power and air tools.
• Ability to solder as part of assembly.
• Good manual dexterity and basic computer operation.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-assemblies with hand and/or power tools; soldering may be required.
• Collaborate with Technicians and Engineering to improve assembly documents and quality.
• Work with engineers to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce costs; validate docs.
• Ensure work order protocols are followed and paperwork completed during tasks.
• Perform in-process quality checks to verify high quality standards.
• Follow procedures on routine work; learn new assignments as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
