Job summary

Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division, is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician I at our Lexington, NC facility. You will support electrical and mechanical assembly and installation for control racks, wire harnesses, and sub-assemblies for rail vehicles. Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am.

Day-to-day duties include assembling units in passenger coaches, wiring, wire routing, disassembly/refurbishment, and reading blueprints to build subassemblies with precision.

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED or equivalent.
  • Experience with electrical panel assembly and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read blueprints/diagrams and various part lists is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble units in passenger coaches including roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks and panels.
  • Connect wires between component leads and connectors, terminals and contact points.
  • Cut wires to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie and attach to terminal points.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework and refurbish components as required.
  • Work from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists and sketches to produce electrical or electro-mechanical subassemblies.
  • Use fine motor skills to assemble small parts with high dexterity.
