Job summary

RTX in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Assembler II to perform routine to moderately complex builds, wiring, repairs, and inspections in support of Navy and defense systems. You will follow engineering drawings and MIL-STD specs, building assemblies that meet strict quality standards.

The role requires 1+ year in electro-mechanical assembly and production soldering, with the ability to read wiring diagrams and obtain IPC certifications.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year in electro-mechanical assembly.
• At least 1 year of production hand-soldering experience.
• Experience with electromechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to obtain IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level and subassembly builds with small-gauge wiring, soldering, crimping, and cable routing per schematics and work instructions.
• Assemble, rework, and upgrade electro-mechanical products per MIL-STD drawings, Raytheon process specifications, and quality requirements.
• Support mechanical and electrical assembly of shipboard hardware, including chassis, wiring harnesses, through-hole CCAs, and component board assemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and connector pin-outs for routine assemblies.
• Perform in-process checks, visual inspections, and functional testing to verify compliance with documentation and customer requirements.
• Maintain production documentation, including traveler sign-offs and inspection records.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work area by following safety protocols, ESD requirements, and company policies.
• Work effectively within a fabrication and repair environment and support daily production schedules.
