External Description

Metals USA -- Gregor Technologies Division is seeking a 1st Shift Electro Mechanical Assembler in Torrington, CT. Metals USA is a solid, growth-oriented aluminum/stainless steel distribution center servicing the defense, aerospace, and fabrication industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications and other written instructions to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Assembles parts using automatic wire cutters, crimping machine or grinding machines.
  • Assembles motors, pumps or compressors using press, fixtures, pneumatic guns or hand tools.
  • Performs end-of-line tests using computer-based equipment.
  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Completes and documents production and quality paperwork, follows shop system data collection procedures and follows inspection procedures on a daily basis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess 3-5 years of mechanical assembly experience with mechanical aptitude and math skills.
  • Must be able to utilize Wire Harness Installation.
  • Must have the ability to read & interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Must have the ability to read measuring instruments: measuring tape, calipers, gauges, and micrometer.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
