Job summary

Space Age Electronics Inc. is seeking an Electro-mechanical Panel Assembler to build and test Graphic Annunciator Panels and subassemblies. You will follow written work instructions, drawings, and quality standards, and maintain a clean, organized workstation.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to solder wires, perform wiring, and use handheld tools. You will participate in inspections, operate basic test equipment, and support 5S/lean activities while adhering to safety and ESD

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED and assembly experience.
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions and work to standard processes.
  • Strong math skills and measurement accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble Graphic Annunciator Panels and subassemblies using hand tools and fixtures.
  • Perform wiring, cable preparation, connector installation, and soldering per specifications.
  • Read work orders, bills of materials, assembly drawings, schematics, and written instructions.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections and document results as required.
  • Operate basic test equipment (e.g., multimeter, continuity tester, power supplies) and record data.
  • Identify nonconforming material, defects, or process issues; communicate concerns to supervisor/quality team.
  • Maintain accurate production records and support 5S/lean activities; follow safety and ESD requirements.

Job Description: Electro-mechanical Panel AssemblerCompany: Space Age Electronics Inc.Department: Production/ManufacturingReports to: Annunciator Production ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPosition Type: Full-timePosition SummaryThe Panel VU Annunciator Production Assembler builds and tests Graphic Annunciator Panels and subassemblies by following written work instructions, drawings, and quality standards. Able to perform accurate assembly work, identify defects, and maintain a clean, organized workstation.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssembleGraphic Annunciator Panels and subassemblies using hand tools and fixtures (e.g., screwdrivers, crimpers, cutters, wire strippers, and soldering irons).Perform wiring, cable preparation, connector installation, as well as soldering wires and cables to terminals and circuit boards per specifications; route and dress wires to workmanship standards.Read and follow work orders, bills of materials, assembly drawings, schematics (as applicable), and written work instructions.Conduct in-process and final inspections (visual and functional) and document results as required.Operate basic test equipment as trained (e.g., multimeter, continuity tester, power supplies) and record data.Identify nonconforming material, defects, or process issues; communicate concerns to the supervisor/quality team and segregate suspect product.Maintain accurate production records (paper or electronic) including travelers, as well as time reporting.Support 5S/lean activities by keeping the workstation clean, organized, and stocked with required materials.Follow safety rules, ESD requirements, and all company policies and procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned to support production needs.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).1+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment (electronic assembly and soldering preferred).Ability to follow detailed written instructions and work to standard processes.Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency using hand tools.Ability to perform tasks with consistent attention to detail and quality.Basic math skills and ability to measure accurately (rulers/calipers as applicable).Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and leadership.Ability to comply with ESD, safety, and quality requirements.Preferred QualificationsSoldering experience (wires and cables to terminals and circuit boards per specifications).Experience building harnesses, cable assemblies, and crimping to manufacturer specifications.Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and electronic work instructions.Experience working in a regulated environment (ISO 9001 or similar).Physical and Working ConditionsWork is typically performed in a production/manufacturing environment.Requires frequent standing or sitting, repetitive hand motions, and fine motor dexterity.May require lifting and/or moving materials up to 25–40 lbs (adjust to your needs).Requires ability to see small components/markings (with corrective lenses if needed).Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with ESD controls.Overtime may be required based on business needs.Equal Employment Opportunity / Reasonable AccommodationSpace Age Electronics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
