Job summary

San Diego Trolley, Inc. (MTS) offers a 4-year apprenticeship program leading to a rewarding career repairing and maintaining the MTS Rail System.

Apprentices gain hands-on experience with LRVs, supported by on-site classroom training at local colleges, with tuition and books paid by MTS. The program progresses from Assistant Lineman to Lineman and Electromechanic, with opportunities for advancement and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must have passed one semester of Algebra with a grade of C or better.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license; submit a driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on LRVs.
• Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic repairs on LRVs.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on LRVs.
• Rebuild and overhaul LRV subcomponents and systems.
• Provide emergency response to recover LRVs in the field.
• Provide maintenance support for MTS Special Events service.
• Perform preventative maintenance to supporting maintenance workshop equipment.
