Description

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reads and interprets common engineering drawings, specification documentation and machinery manuals.
  • Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and adjusts electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Basic familiarity with the requirements of the NEC (National Electrical Codes) as they pertain to the facility.
  • Performs all prescribed preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Performs basic calibration procedures on various pieces of equipment throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects electronic instrumentation problems with devices such as thermocouples, motor tachometers, temperature controllers, and pressure transducers.
  • Actively participates in company safety programs to include safety inspections, safety observations, and JSA risk assessments as required.
  • Repairs and troubleshoots machinery and equipment used in the production of padded polystyrene trays, to include thermoforming, padding, lamination, and extrusion equipment.
  • Operates safely all related shop equipment.
  • Operates forklifts and yard equipment.
  • Work must meet high standards of competent craftsmanship and professionalism in terms of quality, proficiency, efficiency, and material utilization.
  • Conducts food safety and defense self-inspections and reports on deficiencies.
