Job summary

Cascades is hiring for an Electro-Instrum. Techn. in Ashland, VA. This full-time role offers a 12-hour continental swing shift and a competitive hourly wage, with benefits and retirement options.

You will work on the shop floor to bring materials to life while focusing on safety, quality, and asset reliability. You’ll use CMMS daily, mentor junior technicians, and engage in RCA and process improvements. Cascades values health, safety and teamwork, with comprehensive benefits and profit-sharing

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years electrical/instrument control experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with Rockwell, ABB and Valmet equipment.
• Proficient with CMMS and Microsoft Office software.
• Mentor junior technicians and maintain strong attendance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mature E&I capabilities ensuring safety, quality and asset performance.
• Lead RCA for premature failures and implement corrective actions.
• Use CMMS to document findings and trigger actions.
• Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment per OEM specs and ensure reliable operation.
• Contribute to design changes to reduce waste and boost performance.
• Pursue further technical education and self-development.
• Operate electrical and instrumentation systems including PLCs and DCS.
